Germinating Growing Mats (10-pack): the soil-free base for clean microgreen harvests

Want a tidy, soil-free microgreen harvest with almost no effort? The LaNiTex Germinating Growing Mats are non-woven polyester fibre pads, engineered to fit the LaNiTex Smart Microgreen Kit and wick water straight to your seeds — for fast, even germination without daily watering.

Why the grow mats are essential

  • Automated watering through wicking. Forget daily watering — the non-woven polyester fabric draws moisture up from the reservoir to keep the mat evenly saturated for your seeds.
  • Made for LaNiTex microgreen kits. Sized to fit the LaNiTex trays exactly, so they work in harmony with the self-watering system — consistent hydration, no soil mess.
  • Better germination. The textured fabric gives seeds a stable, constantly moist surface to sprout quickly and anchor their roots — higher germination rates and a more even harvest.
  • Clean and effortless. Lay a mat in the tray, scatter your seeds, and let the wicking do the rest. At harvest, just lift and discard the used mat — no scrubbing.

Getting the best results

Seed density matters. Smaller seeds — basil, radish, broccoli — should be sown fairly densely across the full mat. Larger seeds such as sunflower and pea benefit from a little more spacing. As a guide, cover most of the mat with minimal gaps, but don't stack seeds more than one layer deep.

In Queensland's subtropical climate, summer humidity can run high. Good airflow around the tray reduces the risk of mould on the seed surface — especially in the first few days before the seedlings emerge — so avoid an enclosed, unventilated spot.

Each mat is single-use: replace after every harvest for consistent germination. With 10 mats you have enough for 10 full growing cycles — or 5 cycles across two trays at once.
